Volunteer for IRONMAN Staffordshire – 9th June 2019
Staffordshire’s biggest triathlon competition is calling out for volunteers to help make the race a great success.
IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire is looking for volunteers and volunteer groups to help out with athlete registration, marshalling the course, assisting in transition and handing out medals and t-shirts at the finish line.
The 2019 event takes place on Sunday 9 June.
Groups of volunteers are also needed to help out at feeding stations and hand out lap bands to athletes on the running course.
Volunteers will be joining a team of over 500, including stewards, medical staff and technical officials, and have the chance to get great experience of working behind the scenes of a world-renowned event.
Last year, the competition raised hundreds of thousands for charity.
Sue Ball, who has previously volunteered at the competition in Staffordshire, said: “Volunteering at Ironman was a wonderful experience. It was great to be part of one of the UK’s most exciting sporting challenges. What I remember most about the day, apart from those amazing athletes, was just how many athletes thanked me for giving up my time and volunteering to help at the event – a truly rewarding experience.”
