East Staffordshire Borough Council has recently launched a new ‘Stay Local’ campaign, designed to raise awareness of supporting local businesses across the borough, whilst promoting safe shopping. We have a number of areas of the campaign that businesses in your local area may be able to get involved in and we would appreciate your support to reach out to businesses across the borough.
Staffordshire County Council have just opened up nominations for this year’s Dignity In Care awards.

People across Staffordshire are being invited to nominate carers, work colleagues, young people, friends and family members for a prestigious award.
The Staffordshire Dignity in Care Awards recognises groups and individuals who care for or support the most vulnerable of us, and who treat everyone with dignity, kindness, respect and compassion.
Staffordshire County Council welcome nominations from anyone who receives support and care in Staffordshire, their families, friends, or those who provide support and care to Staffordshire citizens
Staffordshire County Council want to celebrate the achievements of as many people as possible especially during the current pandemic.

HS2 West Midlands to Crewe: environmental and traffic impacts, transport provisions and station improvement or creation: Consultation
The government is seeking the views of residents in the local authority areas of Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, and the stakeholders listed in the consultation document, pdf below:
(a) the impact of road traffic as a result of the HS2 Phase 2a works
(b) the impact of the HS2 Phase 2a works on the natural environment, including but not limited to the impact on ancient woodland.
(c) whether there are sufficient transport provisions for passengers connecting to HS2 Phase 2a, and to address changes to general passenger movements caused by the HS2 Phase 2a works
(d) if not, whether the construction of new railway stations and improvements to railway stations, including any associated reopening of lines, is necessary in relation to (c)
This consultation asks for views, based on the information included in the consultation document and various sources of information that the Secretary of State considers may be relevant to this consultation.
Responses from consultees will be independently analysed and reported. The report will be laid before both Houses of Parliament and the Minister of State for Transport will make a statement to both Houses detailing any steps which will be taken to implement the findings of the report.

The deadline for responding to the consultation is 11:45pm on Friday 26th February 2021.
