“The Ramblers” Launch Path Campaign

Dear Residents,

The Parish Council has been advised of the following campaign.

The Ramblers has launched a campaign to build a growing movement across the country to uncover and save generations of lost paths and hidden ways before it is too late.

Paths are considered a precious asset, hidden in plain sight, and often taken for granted. They allow everyone to enjoy the countryside, both on doorsteps and across Britain’s landscapes.
But now, The Ramblers say, many paths are not recorded on the definitive map of rights of way, and if they’re not found and added by the cut-off date of 2026 when the map must be completed, they could be lost forever.

So, to combat this The Ramblers has launched its “Don’t Lose Your Way” campaign, which aims to build a growing movement across the country to uncover and save generations of lost paths and hidden ways before it is too late.

As part of the campaign, the organiser has also launched an online mapping tool which makes it easy to compare current and historic maps side by side and can mark on any missing paths.
